Diarrhoea – Clostridioides difficile

• Updated to improve clarity around treatment of initial episodes and recurrence. Vancomycin dosing revised.

Surgical Prophylaxis

• Guidance added for two procedures. Piperacillin+tazobactam is now recommended for prophylaxis of pancreatoduodenectomy (see General Surgery Surgical Prophylaxis guidelines). Ertapenem is now recommended for prophylaxis of transrectal ultrasound-guided prostate biopsy (see Urological Surgical Prophylaxis guidelines).
